I am cleaning and sorting out my house and find all sorts of memories. About my long travels and expat living in 5 different continents.
When I lived in Nigeria, I used to start playing polo aswell. I had training in Ascot, Uk, to learn about this fast interesting game. And to learn about teamwork with the horses, that would love to play this game. So I trained my own 3 horses. Wow, all sorts of levels in speed and caracter that would mirror you. For the amazing dear horses, give you great opportunity to learn from them. Its all about teamwork! I sure did learn how to be FEARLESS, while going fast speed and quick turns! The other interesting part was how I, as a foreign woman would mingle myself into this Lagos Polo Club, Ikoyicommunity. (My name was Dominique van der Lee at those times)
A challenge on itself, with many different tribes and community leaders. I loved meeting them all, and learned much from these lovely men. But nobody wanted to teach me how to play it, so I went to the most famous Ascot to learn, and came back with the skills.
I had to give it up at the end, for I got breastcancer then, and had to move to the next country.
One day I will play again, that is my wish! So I am keeping some of these items😉
Now shifting most of these items out of my house and donating it. But shifting and clearning, and this is the theme now for all of us! WHAT IS TO GO AND WHAT CAN STAY IN OUR LIVES!!

I LOVE children, the purest beings and mostly connected to their infinate state of being. When visiting schools in Nigeria 🇳🇬 in 2001, they showed me the “being grateful and loving” energy. Having much fun interacting with them and to learn from their culture and inner happiness. For they showed me to be playfull with the most smallest of items, instead of other cultures luxury tools of games. Their happiness, singing and shining came from inside💖

Let me take you on a journey and share my experiences from living in WEST AFRICA. I lived in NIGERIA from 1998 until 2003. And had many amazing adventures and got to know the culture as much as possible, for what I could see at that time through my eyes. My heart really loves the culture and I always made the joke: I look like a white woman, but from the inside I Am a black and white mix woman.
